The Lagos State Government has announced a four-week traffic diversion plan for the reconstruction of Thomas Ajufo Road, leading to the Sheraton Link Bridge area. Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, revealed this in a statement issued on Sunday.
The traffic diversion, which is necessitated by the ongoing construction of the Opebi Link Bridge, is scheduled to commence on October 16. During this period, alternative routes will be provided for motorists and other road users.
According to Osiyemi, motorists traveling towards Opebi Road will be permitted to use one side of the Opebi Road Carriageway, as the construction work requires the temporary closure of the second lane. Additionally, those heading towards Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way from Allen Avenue/Toyin Street should take the route via Toyin Street, Ola Ayinde Street, and connect to Ikeja Under Bridge to continue their journeys.
He emphasized the importance of motorists adhering to traffic signs and following the instructions of relevant traffic management authorities to ensure a smooth traffic flow.
