President Bola Tinubu Expresses Condolences for Canadian Embassy Fire Victims
President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt sympathies to the Canadian Government and the victims of the recent fire incident at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja. This message of condolence was conveyed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, (Media and Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, on Monday.
As previously reported by HeraldReporters, a fire outbreak at the High Commission of Canada to Nigeria, situated in the Central Business District of Abuja, tragically claimed two lives and left two others hospitalized with severe burns.
The Head of Operations of the FCT Fire Service, Amiola Adebayo, who confirmed the incident during a phone interview, stated that two individuals lost their lives, while approximately three to four others sustained injuries and were rushed to hospitals.
President Tinubu’s statement offering condolences read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends his sympathies to the Canadian government, the diplomatic community, and all those affected by the fire incident that occurred on Monday at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.
“The President assures the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in assisting the diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were particularly impacted by the incident. President Tinubu also prays for the souls of the departed and wishes a swift and complete recovery to all those injured.”
