Kano Assembly Approves Establishment Of Rural Access Road
Kano State House of Assembly has passed the State Rural Access Roads Agency (KARARA) Bill 2023.
The bill was passed on Monday after deliberation in the committee of the House, and 3rd reading of the bill during a plenary session, presided over by the deputy speaker Alhaji Kabiru Hassan Dashi.
After the sittings, the lawmakers approved the 3rd reading of the bill, by the clerk Alhaji Garba Bako Gezawa.
The bill was subsequently passed into law.
Also in today’s plenary, the Assembly received a letter from the incumbent Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje seeking approval to appoint Dr Ibrahim Yakasai as Chief Medical Director of Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital.
The hospital was upgraded from Muhammad Abdullahi Wase specialist hospital to a teaching hospital, to accommodate medical students from Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, in addition to Aminu Kano teaching hospital.
The House committed the matter to the House standing committee on Health, to screen the nominee and submit a report on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
The plenary was adjourned to Wednesday.
