RIFAN Remain A Major Driver Towards Nigeria’s Food Security – Bagudu

The Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has lauded the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) for its remarkable contribution to Nigeria’s food security policy.
In a meeting with the executive members of RIFAN from Sokoto and Kebbi States on Monday, the Governor acknowledged the active role played by RIFAN in achieving self-sufficiency in rice production in the country, which boosted the economic prosperity of farmers.
The Governor expressed his belief that the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu would build on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He added that the new administration would make Nigeria not only self-sufficient in food but also an exporter of agricultural produce to other countries.
Governor Bagudu further appreciated RIFAN for its immeasurable contribution to the nation’s food security, which has projected the association to the limelight and attracted Egypt to enter into a food program agreement with the association on rice farming, livestock production, and fisheries.
This was contained in a statement signed by Yahaya Sarki, spokesperson to the governor, on Monday.
The National Chairman of RIFAN, Alhaji Aminu Goronyo, described Governor Bagudu as a mentor and a leader who has been honored with the position of great patron of RIFAN.
He further commended the agricultural revival program implemented by the governor, which has energized rice farmers to increase yields and spread positive effects throughout the nation, making the state a hub of rice production.
Goronyo also congratulated the governor on the election of Tinubu as the President-elect of Nigeria and the election of Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu as Governor-elect of Kebbi State.
