Plateau PDP told losses not responsibility of Judiciary, Rep says
The representative for Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gagdi, has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State not to hold him or the judiciary responsible for what he termed the party’s “self-inflicted troubles.
In a statement released by his media office on Wednesday night, Gagdi criticized PDP members in Plateau state for blaming their tribunal losses on him and the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem. The statement condemned attempts by certain PDP groups to vilify Gagdi and others opposed to the party, including the judiciary, for unfavorable judgments. It emphasized the dangers of undermining the judiciary and urged the PDP to refrain from casting aspersions on the President of the Court of Appeal.
The statement concluded by stating that Nigerian courts are courts of law, not of sentiments and emotions, and cannot be intimidated by shenanigans.
