Former President, Nigerian Bar Association, Wole Olanipekun, SAN
Prominent lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), has urged affluent Nigerians to assist the substantial number of impoverished citizens in the interest of humanity and peace.
Olanipekun, noting that approximately 70% of Nigerians were struggling with poverty, emphasized that extending kindness to them would enhance their lives and significantly address the issue of transferred aggression.
He highlighted the importance of addressing the frustration, anger, and suffering of hungry people to maintain peace in the country. Olanipekun made these remarks during the 27th Wole Olanipekun Scholarship Scheme, the 4th Empowerment Programme of Wole Olanipekun Foundation, and the distribution of palliatives in Ikere Ekiti, his hometown.
Speaking at the event, Olanipekun emphasized the need to show sympathy and lift people in the face of the challenges confronting a large segment of the population. The foundation, in collaboration with Ekiti State Governor Mr. Biodun Oyebanji and Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, awarded scholarships to 250 students, provided youth empowerment to 100 beneficiaries, and granted palliatives to 600 individuals, including 100 aged and widows.
Olanipekun stressed the importance of adding value to humanity, acknowledging the prevalent hunger, poverty, and joblessness in the country. Senator Bamidele praised Olanipekun for his dedication to the community, describing him as a celebrated citizen and a hero with a good heart. Governor Oyebanji commended Olanipekun’s hard work and generosity in sharing his blessings with others.
