How Kano hospital staff returns missing N40m

A staff of the Abubakar Imam Urology Centre in Kano State, Malam Aminu Umar Kofar Mazugal has returned missing bundles of U.S. dollars worth over N40 million to the owner.

The dollars were said to have been mistakenly left behind by a visitor at the hospital.

It was gathered that the owner of the money, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed, accidentally left it in a bag at the hospital’s parking lot near a mosque, where he had briefly sat before rushing off to catch a flight.

After the owner departed, Aminu Umar, a hospital staff member who was working with colleagues to clear the pavements, discovered the bag of money.

He said the owner offered Umar a reward, but he declined, though he provided his phone number and the owner promised to contact him upon return from abroad.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Aminu Imam Yola confirmed the incident and stated that the hospital management had submitted Aminu’s name to the Kano State Hospitals Management Board for special recognition.
