Governor Badaru Applaud Supreme Court Ruling says its for Public Interest
Jigawa state governor, Muhammad Badaru described the Supreme Court judgment restraining the Federal Government from implementing the February 10 Deadline of the old naira notes to stop being legal tender as a welcome development and a worthy consideration for the masses.
Governor Badaru Speaking in an exclusive interview with Hausa Service of the voice of America says the economic activities in the country is almost in a state of collapse as a result of the current situation caused by the scarcity of the new note.
In a press statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations to the Jigawa state governor, the governor calls on the Central Bank to respect the judgment of the apex court and allow Nigerians to transact their normal business with both old and new naira notes to avoid disruption of business activities adding that Nigerians deserve better life at this critical time.
The governor further described the judgment of the Supreme Court against the CBN as a public interest-based judgment that must be respected.
