Governance Not For The Weak, Adhere To Your Constitutional Roles, Masari Urges Lawmakers

The Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, has called on the lawmakers in the state to focus on their constitutional role of presenting the needs for the execution of development projects for their people.

Masari made the call during the presentation of certificates of return by the Director General of the State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council, Architect Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, to the winners of the just concluded supplementary elections in the state.
The Governor congratulated the APC legislative members on their victory and urged them to remain focused on carrying their constituents along.
He also emphasized the need to sensitize the electorates that the powers of the legislative members are limited to legislation while the executive carries out projects.
The campaign DG, Dangiwa, presented the certificates to Governor Masari.
The certificates were for Salisu Hamza Rimaye of Kankia and Zaharaddeen Usman Sani, member-elect for the Kurfi local government area, who won the supplementary elections.
With their victory, the APC now has thirty-three out of thirty-four seats in the State Assembly.
The winners of the supplementary elections expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for their victory and promised to deliver a good representation.
They, however, appealed for prayers and support in achieving their set goals.
The victory of the APC in the supplementary elections has further strengthened the party’s hold on the State Assembly.
