Following her dismissal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Minister of Women Affairs, Kennedy Ohanenye, has publicly expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the federal cabinet.
In her first public reaction since the reshuffle, Ohanenye took to her X handle (formerly Twitter) to thank President Tinubu and the Nigerian people for the privilege to serve the nation.
Ohanenye, along with four other ministers, was relieved of her duties after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.
In her message, she reflected on her time in office, describing it as an honor to have been part of the President’s cabinet.
The former Minister’s tenure saw its share of controversies, including allegations of mismanagement of funds, but her parting statement appeared to focus on gratitude and the experience of serving at the highest level of government.

In the letter titled: “Letter of appreciation”, she said: “I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honour and a privilege to contribute to the development of our Nation,
“I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during my tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. Her kindness and encouragement have been instrumental to my success.
“To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration
“I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity.”
