Reconcile With Fubara, Ijaw Organization Advises Wike

An organization known as the Ijaw National Congress Worldwide is urging the former governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike, to reconcile with the current governor, Mr. Siminialayi Fubara, in the interest of peace and the state’s development.
Expressing concern over the political discord, particularly between Fubara and his predecessor, the INC emphasized its commitment to truth and good governance. The group, led by President Prof Benjamin Okaba, commended the people of Rivers State for resisting the alleged planned impeachment of Fubara and implored Wike not to disrupt the ongoing administration.
In a statement released in Akure, Ondo State, on Sunday, the INC urgently appealed to all political actors in Rivers State to uphold their responsibilities to constituents and refrain from actions that could undermine the sanctity of the Governor’s office. Specifically addressing Chief Nyesom Wike, the group urged him to refrain from sowing division against the current government, emphasizing that his political structure should not be conflated with the structure of Governor Fubara’s administration.
The Ijaw National Congress worldwide acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, elder statesman Chief Edwin Clarke, and other eminent Nigerians in mediating the crisis. The group called on the people of the state to stay vigilant, steadfast, and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace in Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region.
