Police Pledge to Track Down Perpetrators of Anambra YPP Ward Chairman’s Murder

Anambra CP Vows to Apprehend Killers of YPP Ward Chairman, Dismisses Umunze as ESN Headquarters
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has declared the commitment of the Command to apprehend and prosecute the culprits responsible for the killing of Joe Mohale, the Nanka Ward Chairman of the Young Progressive Party. CP Adeoye condemned the act, denouncing the perpetrators as “cowards who have murdered sleep.” He assured the public that the police are actively pursuing leads to uncover the identity of the assailants, urging citizens in Nanka to collaborate with law enforcement to bring the murderers to justice.
In addition, the police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, addressed reports falsely asserting that Umunze, Orumba South LGA, serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Security Network (ESN). Ikenga dismissed the claims, emphasizing that the Divisional Police Headquarters in Umunze is fully operational, refuting any notion that Umunze is a “no-go area” for the police. He clarified that insurgent activities in the southern part of Umunze, in a neighboring state, are being jointly addressed by law enforcement agencies to eliminate threats.
Ikenga stated, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, wishes to assure the good people of the State that their safety remains the most important priority of the Police Command, and this is permanent.”
