The caretaker chairman of Takum local government area, Hon. Boyi Manja, has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the local government area of Taraba State over religious killings.
Religious crisis erupted in Takum LGA on Sunday between Muslims and Christians when two persons were killed at Rafa Kasuwan Shanu along Wukari Road in Takum by gunmen who dressed in vigilante uniform.
Manja while speaking to press confirmed that he had imposed 24-hour curfew to avert further killings and destruction of properties within the area.

“I imposed the curfew to stop killings and destruction of properties, this morning. They went to one area with guns, fortunately security men went and cleared them,” he stated.
A resident of Takum, Mr. Chinyang Danladi, who spoke to our correspondent on phone, said people were in their house and cannot go out to look for their daily means of livelihood.
“We are all indoors, we never planned for this and it’s not been easy since yesterday, despite the curfew, we are hearing exchange of gunshots inside Takum, some of our people have ran to take refuge at Ada Barracks, others are hiding at Mammy Market,” he added.
